About Tacoma Custom Jewelers
Dan Smith founded Tacoma Custom Jewelry in December of 2010. The company's first location was on Broadway in the Winthrop across from the Broadway Center in Downtown Tacoma, WA.
From this location, the company grew and relocated over to 6th Avenue where Dan joined, and was quickly elected, the Vice President of the Sixth Avenue Business District.
Within a year and a half, Tacoma Custom Jewelry was ready for another growth spurt. This move took them from their first location on 6th Avenue (2610 Suite B) to 2610 Suite A, and allowed them to almost double their square footage.
After serving on the Sixth Avenue Business District's Board (SABD) for two years as the Vice President, Dan Smith was elected President of the SABD in the Fall of 2013, and true to the company's history, another move to yet an even larger location was due.
Dan Smith changed the name of Tacoma Custom Jewelry to Tacoma Custom Jewelers in an effort to better reflect the company's growing network of master bench jewelers, distributors, artists on consignment within the store, and the company's ability to create jewelry via various CAD Cam systems. In the Winter of 2013, Dan expanded the business again by moving to 3013 6th Avenue.
This location served the business well and by the end of 2016, another move to an even larger location was necessary.
Tacoma Custom Jewelers opened their new location in University Place off of Bridgeport Way W in December of 2016. This most recent move has allowed TCJ to showcase a large assortment of jewelry, Milliefiori, Italian glass vases, unique local paintings, and award winning photos in their new two story building. Feel free to stop by, experience, and take part in the next chapter of this growing jewelry store's history.
